Overall battery life will depend on how you use your device, but this article will cover some tips and tricks to extend the battery life of your WinSlate device for as long as possible throughout the day.
Adjust WinSlate Settings
Turn off Wi-Fi
- If Wi-Fi (i.e. wireless internet) is not needed, you can turn it off to save battery!
- Windows Start Menu > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Toggle to "Off"
Reduce screen brightness
- This also has the benefit of reducing eye strain.
-
Windows Start Menu > Settings > System > Display > Adjust "Brightness Level"
- Many WinSlate users report that 50% screen brightness is ideal.
Use "Battery Saver"
- Windows Start Menu > Settings > System > Power & Battery
- Scroll down to "Energy saver"” and set "Turn energy saver on automatically when battery level is at" to "50%."
Minimize Background Processes
- When battery is low, reduce processes such as streaming music and downloading files.
Use an XTNDR Battery
An XTNDR Battery can ensure that users have continuous access to their device even if they are away from an outlet for extended periods of time throughout the day.
An XTNDR battery can be requested by the evaluating SLP during the funding process.
The recommendation should be justified within the evaluation, selected on the Order Form, and listed on the Certificate of Medical Necessity.
More information about the XTNDR can be found here: What is the XTNDR Battery?
