How to charge your WinSlate device will vary slightly based on how old your device is and what charger you are using! This article provides guidance for multiple different setups.
How to Determine if you have a Newer or Older WinSlate
Newer WinSlate
-
Turn the device over so that you're looking at the back of the device and the WinSlate sticker is oriented corrected to read the label.
-
The Adapta will be mounted on the right (older WinSlates will have the Adapta on the left). Newer WinSlates also have a small clip to hold the stylus on the back of the case.
Older WinSlate
-
Older WinSlates also have a spot on the left side of the case (if you are looking at the front of the device) for the stylus to be mounted. This is not present on newer WinSlates.
How to Charge a Newer WinSlate
Depending on when your device was shipped, you may have a few different options to charge your newer WinSlate.
USB-C Charger
-
You may have received a charger with a wall plug that looks similar to the one below. It will have 3 ports (one USB-A and two USB-C ports) and a wall plug that flips up and down (as depicted in the image below).
-
There are two cords that stem from this charger. The purpose of this is for one cord to plug into the charging port on the SoundPOD, and the other cord to plug into the charging port on the WinSlate.
-
The free end of the cord plugged into the top USB-C port on the wall charger should be used to charge the WinSlate.
-
The free end of the cord can be plugged into one of two locations on the Winslate (as shown in the pictures below):
-
USB-C port on the left edge of the WinSlate:
-
USB-C port under the Adapta on the pack of the device:

The free end of the cord plugged into the middle USB-C port on the wall charger should be used to charge the SoundPOD.
-
The free end of the cord can be plugged into the charging port on the SoundPOD. More information about charging SoundPODs can be found here: How do I charge the SoundPOD?
-
-
-
A black or green battery with a lightning bolt in the lower right corner of the WinSlate screen indicates that the WinSlate is charging successfully (visual may vary based on the software the WinSlate is running).
-
If you see an indicator similar to the ones depicted below, you likely have the SoundPOD charging cord and the WinSlate charging cord switched. Try swapping the cords to see if that solves the issue.
-
Magnetic Charger
-
You may have received a charger that looks similar to this:

-
This end of the charger magnetically attaches to the charging port on the right side of the device
-
When you have the wall plug plugged into an outlet and the magnetic end of the charger successfully inserted into the charging port on the device, you will see the following:
-
A small light on the edge of the charger
-
A black or green battery with a lightning bolt in the lower right corner of the WinSlate screen indicates that the WinSlate is charging successfully (visual may vary based on the software the WinSlate is running).
-
-
If you did not receive the USB-C charger (described above), In addition to the wall plug and the magnetic cord, you may see a third cord plugged into this charger. This cord fits into the charging port on the SoundPOD. More information about charging SoundPODs can be found here: How do I charge the SoundPOD?
