If you have the AAC user who is new to eye gaze and just learning to calibrate, the "Balloon Popping" activity within the Hiru app provides a one-point calibration option.
A "one point calibration" within the game is performed as the AAC User stares at the initial balloon. From there, the AAC User can look at subsequent balloons, and the camera will track their gaze.
The "Balloon Popping" activity is also a low-pressure way to explore eye gaze operational skills by introducing users to a fun cause-and-effect game to pop the onscreen balloons.
This article explains how to access and use the "Balloon Popping" activity.
- Open the Hiru app

Go to the "Activities" section.

Toggle music and sound effects on/off to the user's preferences.

Use the distance indicator on the left side of the screen to ensure appropriate positioning. Ideally, the dark line should rest between the two white lines on the indicator.
- If the dark line is high up on the bar, it suggests that the user is too close to the screen.
- If the dark line is low on the bar, it suggests that the user is too far from the screen.

Click the "Play" button in the center of the screen to begin the game. The first balloon on the screen that says "LOOK HERE" is the single point calibration.
- The game continues until the "X Cancel" button in the upper left corner of the screen is selected.
